ABOUT

LUISELLA LUCE TORREFORTE

I was lucky enough to travel to all the continents, testing myself on my comfort zone. The encounter with various cultures taught me how to empathize with very different people. Producer of music videos, commercials and documentaries, I was an active part of the creative process: beauty, artistic expression and high quality. At the top of my career, I radically changed my life.  In 1999 I dumped everything and left for the Kosovo war with a camera and a falsified journalist licence!
After an assignment in India for World Food Program, photography became my research tool. "Beliefs" was the title of my first photographic exhibition on world rituals; I tried to immortalize that spiritual energy that lights up in people through the practice of faith. After the birth of my daughter, I chose to dedicate myself to inner research. I started working for international retreat centres as a yoga teacher and  personal coach. I received Pranayama by direct transmission, and this is the practice I love to share. Then I moved to Africa & founded Shala Heart.

I am grateful to all the people I met on my path: they have been essential for my growth.
In 2019 I founded Shala Heart

THE PROPERTY

One of a Kind Facility

This spectacular 3-acre property was recreated from an abandoned Swahili house, surrounded by the boticanal beauty native to the Kenyan Coast. The pre-existing Swahili house was renovated in a Lamu fusion style, with a makuti roof. The architectural structures were conceived as satellites and sculptures within a space of strong natural energy, leaving nature intact. There are more than 200 different qualities of local plants: palms, neems, baobabs, cacti and flowers.
